Directions from school to the location. |
As my group and I understand, another crucial
and prominent aspect of pre-production, is the location. Location in a music
video is essential to get right as it completes the look of a video. The
location has to suit the song as well as the actors involved. Therefore, I
arranged times with my mum to look visit a location.
I was given a few options, but chose to view
a house near to school, in 'East Horsley' as it would be easier and more convenient for my group members
and our cast. The house I visited was a building which was in the process of
doing up, therefore, it had old and new aspects to it which was visually quite aesthetic.
Parts of the house were perfect, giving the look of broken, abandoned and dirty
aspects however others were too contemporary. Whilst I was there, I captured a
lot of footage, including images and videos of most rooms.
Overall, after my group and I viewed all the
footage captured and assessed it, we felt some parts of the house had huge
potential and we could see it working with our music video, however other parts
fell close to looking like a building site, and this is not our intentional
look. As well as this, the house is currently in the process of being done up
therefore, by the time we are ready to film our video in November, there is a
risk the house will be too decorated. In response to this, we will continue to
search but in the meantime have arranged for Harvey, another group member to
view a house in case this one does not work. However, I am pleased with my
findings if other locations don’t plan out and have gained more hope and closer
visuals.
