Pre-Production: Gaining permission for our location

Part of our process and preparation for our music video, is set dressing the house ready for our music video. However, due to this I understand the respect and authorisation we need from the owner of our location. Gaining permission is a huge step forward in our pre-productive stage as it will give us more hope and realisation towards our concept but also it will allow us to have freedom to pursue our set design ideas.

Therefore, Harvey contacted his parents and they clearly stated we can do whatever we wish and intend to, however, ideas of allowing our girl group to mess around in the swimming pool are out of bounds as the pool is not heated and no individual can go in the water as this will risk health and safety issues due to the freezing, cold water. This is very pleasing information as even though we can’t use the pool, we still have many different elements and actions for the girls to do with permission. Therefore, our ideas of throwing paint, ripping wallpaper, dirtying carpets, playing with water, roller-skating and boarding windows are allowed.

However, we potentially wanted to knock a whole in one of the walls, but this might not be possible, therefore we will knock a whole in the wall in the wardrobe for the same intended effect. Similarly, we were told to be careful if we wanted the girls to splash water as it is not ideal to mix the water with the electrics, so we will be extra careful if excess of water will be involved on shoot day.

Email of gained permission from the owner - Heather.
