In the lesson today, we began by creating a plan structurally
helped by our teacher Phil. My group and I understand how important and
beneficial plans are in preparation for our music video, therefore throughout
the pre-production aspects of our video, we will consistently be creating
plans.
Closely after researching famous artists’ music videos,
members of my group and I also felt it was also of need to examine previous
Hurtwood videos to gain a realistic view of our feasible limits and expectation.
By researching past products, we were also beneficially inspired. As well as
showing interest in other videos, we were constantly considering and thinking
of ideas for a third possible location for our video and further additional elements.
We understand the more ideas we produce, the more options and possibilities for
our video to easily be created.
From viewing past videos, my group and I have come to an agreement that our second location (the gangster element) should be shot in an actual setting, instead of in the studio. We want our video to show contrast and different locative elements of engagement, therefore we don’t want our whole video to be shot in the studio. The previous videos have helped us realise we could possibly use an abandoned house or messed up area, however, we are still considering aesthetically pleasing locations for our third element. Similarly, from watching videos of the same genre, conventions of drummer figures aren’t associated with this genre, therefore my group and I are considering of no longer using this role.
