Post-Production: Further updates on the Website

As I understand, time is running short and therefore we need to get the products completely finished and rapidly to the best of our potential. In order to do this, we are all working hard on each product to make them as effective as possible. For instance, based upon my website I have created, Harvey and Fran made and suggested some ideas to create an effortlessly efficient link between all three products; this meant colours and images within the website had to be altered.

For instance, beneficial changes were made, no matter how small or big the alters are, we are working our hardest to achieve the best results. Firstly, we all decided instead of having a black slight marbled background for the homepage, we would change this to the marbled background used on the CD Digipak, so therefore the products correspond better with each other. Similar to this, by using the marbled background for the homepage it immediately adds a sense of youth and fun, instead of falling too much into stylish, formal profession. As well as this, we agreed to change two of the links, for instance, instead of including, sign-up, tour, listen and store, we felt the need to change it to listen, follow, tour and lastly about.  Other changes made, include the alter of colours for the links, from green to white. Similarly, instead of including the social media sites at the bottom of the page, Harvey wanted to create another logo consisting of the words ‘PRAY’ to fit better.

Another change that we felt needed to bed made, was the small slide share presented on the homepage, even though I was fond of it, I wanted the rest of my group to be pleased and fully satisfied, so therefore we agreed a GIF would be suitable and effective. Due to this, Harvey created a GIF. For example, he chose a few images of similarity and created a short video out of them using the software iMovie, in which Juli slightly changes her position. After uploading the short video to YouTube, he converted it into a GIF using the site GIPHY. Although, we are all fond of the idea of a GIF, we are not fully pleased with the GIF at the moment, so therefore will change overtime.

Similar to the previous website, Harvey then developed each of the four pages. For example, on listen, Harvey inserted a lightbox promoting the release of SIOUX’s latest album, after this he followed it by linking correct music platforms to our artist, such as iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and lastly Apple Music. After, he moved onto the link follow and used another lightbox directing viewers to sign up to SIOUX’s newsletter and after links to each of her social media sites. I wanted to include social media sites, as I was hugely inspired by Lorde and Charlie XCX’s creating’s. For instance, we included the sites, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, SoundCloud and lastly Instagram. Also, for the tour page, Harvey connected the app ‘Bandintown’, as I had previously done and linked a defaulted artist for the time being. Lastly, for the last link, about, we included relevant, interesting information regarding the artist SIOUX, touching upon her background as well as including a gallery on photos from the photoshoot.

As a group, we are pleased with the site so far although it is not complete yet, as we want to change a few aspects of it. Therefore, we are constantly attempting to improve it.
This is the GIF we made.
This is the Website so far.
